Meditation Therapy - Part II
Meditation uses the power of the mind to heal the body directing energy to the affected parts. Visualization and concentration aid and accelerate this process. Building and maintaining a positive attitude is a prerequisite for success.

Meditation as a Lifestyle
Meditation begins as postures and breath control and mantras. But it expands, just as the mind expands when we empty it of clutter and stretch it with hope and awareness. The more aware we become, the larger the capacity of the mind becomes, and the more we are able to meditate. The more we meditate, the larger our consciousness expands, so that the dynamic process is never-ending and ever-increasing.

Sanctifying the Psyche via Mantra Chanting
For soul progress, the area of thought has to work hard and only then can we reap rich dividends. Only when a field is ploughed again and again, can it give a rich harvest. Chanting Mantras is akin to ploughing fields. The act of worship is akin to opening a school by the inner soul so as to educate the mind and ten senses. In this school one is asked to repeat the Lord’s name continuously so that its student can easily memorize alphabets, numbers etc. It is this primary education which is behind repeating the same thing again and again.

Hurricanes are a Good Time to Meditate
One-way to relieve stress during large catastrophic hurricanes during the 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season is to meditate. If you are new to meditation this will be the perfect time for you to try it out because all the lights will be off for three to four weeks and you'll have only food and water to think about.

Benefits of Meditation
The healing benefits of meditation are threefold – physical, psychological, and spiritual. The meditation benefits touted the most in our culture are the physiological benefits that can be tested and proven. For example, due to a steady increase in coronary disease over the last few decades, many individuals are turning to meditation as a way of improving their heart health. The effects of meditation when practiced regularly include reduced blood pressure and cholesterol, which means an overall decrease in your heart's workload. Less work for your heart means it will be pumping for many years to come.

Exploring Mindfulness and Meditation
It is very easy for the human mind to become lazy, especially in an unthinking consumer driven world where consumers are driven by advertising, habit and social compliance. However, even a simple exercise using meditation and mindfulness can help people take a meaningful step away from the consumer quagmire.
