Why Big Business Should Embrace Virtual Assistance
Since starting my Virtual Assistance practice, and after 24 years in corporate America, I keep coming back to the question: Why doesn’t Virtual Assistance also work for larger corporations? I don’t have an answer to that question, but I have come up with several reasons for large companies to take a serious look at how Virtual Assistance can help them.Virtual Assistance is a strategic alternative to downsizing: Too many large companies today have embraced downsizing as a way to reduce overhead costs and become more operationally efficient. A large number of downsized positions are targeted for the administrative staff because companies believe technology will be a more efficient, cost-effective solution to human support and that managers and senior leaders can assume the maintenance of these tasks. This belief is misguided simply because technology cannot replace human expertise, intuition or interaction. The assumption that administrative tasks such as calendaring, data/information management, meeting planning or research will be better managed with technology and leadership oversight is a plan for disaster.Okay, I know I’m being harsh here… but when administrative staff is downsized they take with them the detailed knowledge of administrivia. In other words, expecting the managers or senior leaders who relied on administrative support to assume these “simple” tasks with the help of technology is like asking an executive chef to release her prep cook and sous chef for mechanized preparation. It just doesn’t work.Managers and senior executives are very good at what they do – strategizing, business development, analyzing, and decision-making. But, the countless details of these functions are so varied that they require the diverse skills that only administrative experts can bring to the role. The old corporate ad

Networking Success Tip - Develop a Business Networking Plan
You’ve made your choice. You’ve decided to use business networking as a way of "getting" more clients, more referrals and more sales. What are you "getting" yourself into? You’re getting yourself into a process where relationship building comes first and business building follows.Networking is the most effective face-to-face business building tool in existence.Business networking is all about establishing and maintaining relationships that foster trust, friendship and referrals.A referral is the act of introducing someone you trust to someone you care about.People buy from people that they like and trust. People give referrals to people they like and they trust. Those who are ready, willing, and able to give referral leads want to know that you can be counted upon, and that you can be trusted to “deliver as promised.”Now you know everything about networking there is to know. You’re ready to jump in. You’re ready to make the most of every business and social networking opportunity. You load yourself up with your business cards. You create flyers and brochures to serve as handouts. You practice your introductory “elevator” speech. You get in your car. You drive to the meeting location. You enter the gathering. You begin to follow your predetermined networking plan. What is your business networking plan? What goals are included in your plan?Whether you network to promote your business, get referrals or build a database, you must have goals. You must have a plan. What is your networking plan? Is it written out?You may ask, “Why do I need a written plan?"After all---you may want to go to the event and just “schmooze.” (Schmooze is a technical term for friendly communication in a group setting). The “all I want to do is schmooze a little” mindset is the companion piece to
There are two main cashback websites which reward people for purchasing goods and such online. I will now talk about both of these websites in more detail, showing how to earn the most money from both of these sites.

    Site 1: Rpoints

Rpoints.com is a well respected and rapidly growing internet site, which already boasts thousands of members. This website provides users with the opportunity to earn free cash. As with HBUK, there are no catches, no obligations and no getting inundated with spam. It is simply a way to earn a little bit of money on the side and it is simple and very straightforward to do so.

    ~Join Now~

If you sign up to rpoints.com via this website, you will automatically put yourself in line for a ?5 bonus. It is a policy at rpoints.com to provide all new members with a 500 rpoint join up bonus. In order to claim the bonus, new users simply have to earn 2500 rpoints and then it will be awarded. It won’t cost you any money to achieve this amount of points and you can generate well in excess of 100 rpoints per day. There is no reason not to join, so go ahead and do so. There are no catches and if you don’t like it then you can always give up. It is a win-win situation for everyone.

    ~Registration~

The registration process is very simple and straightforward. The site will only ask you for a few very basic details when you join. They simply ask for your name and a valid email address. They aren’t interested in a home address or contact number of any kind. The next step is to think of a username and a unique password for you account. Once that is out of the way, your registration is complete.

10 No-Cost Powerful Marketing Strategies that will make you more profits.
How many of us have a huge marketing budget? If you are like me then you know that you have to make every penny that you spend on marketing really count. Marketing is not as difficult as you may think. Here are 10 NO-COST marketing tips to help you make more profits for your business. All you will have to do is invest some time and effort. Here they are: 1.Always spell your customer’s name correctly. Check the correct spelling and spell it correctly every time. You will be surprised the impact that this has. 2.Recognise your customer’s voice and greet them by name, whether they are on the phone or when you meet them at your premises. Your customer will feel extremely valued. 3.Remember specific things about your customers and bring them up when you are conversing, e.g. details about their child, for example he or she has just graduated, just married or whatever topic that your customer likes to talk about. This gives your customer a warm feeling, makes your customer feel that they have a personal connection with you and shows that you are actually interested in them. 4.Know what your customer likes. The best way to describe this is to give the bar scenario, “the usual then”, this makes your customer feel special and valued. 5.Under promise and over deliver. For example, you have promised to delivery an item for your customer, you know very well that you can delivery it by the next day. Promise to delivery by say the end of the week and then deliver it the next day. This has a dual purpose, firstly the customer would be very impressed with the speedy delivery and secondly it gives you some slack in case you encounter any unforeseen delays (which the customer would never need to know about, hence avoiding disappointment and giving satisfaction) 6.Alway

How A Small Organization Can Develop It's Own Scorecard
What Is A Scorecard?A scorecard is a tool that helps businesses, organizations, and governments monitor progress and track measurable outputs against their set goals, and objectives. It is a snapshot of where an organization stands at a given point in time against the overall goals.Fiscal responsibility requires sound stewardship, not just making promises, but ensuring delivery, completion, performance and results. Scorecard encourages a result-oriented workforce, where programs, projects, and initiatives are managed professionally, and efficiently to achieve the expected results. When employees know that the progress of the projects and tasks they are working on is being tracked and measured, it encourages productivity. The United States Government, for instance, employs a 'President’s Management Agenda (PMA)' to measure the Government’s progress toward its goals. It uses the Executive Branch Management Scorecard to track how well US departments and agencies are executing their initiatives towards that agenda.Scorecard As An Essential Management Tool:Scorecard is a useful management report because:•It aligns the work program of an organization, ensuring that resources and efforts are not wasted on activities and initiatives that are not related to the organization’s goals, and strategies.•It presents a summary of where the organization stands on implementing its programs and projects, where either too-little efforts or too many efforts are currently expended.•It provides useful feedback to staff and management on progress, making it an essential decision-making tool for everyone in the organization.•It helps to track overall performance of a project or program on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.Using A Deliverable Report As A ScorecardA lot of small business owners sent me requests for informa

5 Advertising Mistakes Most Small Businesses Make
Effective advertising is an investment in your business. Ineffective advertising is a liability and a waste of money. Here are the top 5 things to avoid making sure you advertise effectively.1. Don’t advertise at allIf you are in business and you don’t do some kind of advertising you are not doing business. The only excuse for not advertising is that you have more business than you can handle and then you should expand, raise yoru prices, and advertise more. This is not to say that you should buy advertising that you cannot afford. If you're strapped for cash, look for low cost advertising options like co-op advertising, buying remnant newspaper space, flyers, direct mail, or negotiate for trade. If you are reading this then I am assuming that Coke and Nike are slightly larger companies than yours. These companies spend hundreds of millions of dollars a year in advertising. Why? Well, how long do you think they would keep brand dominance if they stopped advertising today? Pepsi and New Balance would take over in a matter of days or weeks. If things are slow – that’s a ridiculous reason not to advertise. How do you expect them to pick up – magic? Studies show companies that advertise through economic downturns out perform their competitors during the downturn. When the economy picks up they boom. There are too many cost effective ways to advertise for you not to be building your business.2. Put all your eggs in one basketOne ad in one place does not make an effective campaign. A good advertising strategy includes a good mix of methods. Studies show that ideally you should be reaching your customers 4 or more ways.Combining radio or TV advertising with print will increase the ROI of both. Multiple exposures to your message has a synergistic effect. Don’t blow the budget on a tv or radio campaign and forget other channe

Buy Your Next Car Like A Dealer
The majority of cars one finds on used car lots were acquired at huge, dealer-only wholesale auctions. Most dealers bid on cars they wish to market, transport those they buy back to their lots, mark them up by 25% (or more), and then wait for someone looking for a used car to browse their lot in search of the “perfect” car for them. It is a tried-and-true method for many dealers, but it can be a harrowing process for potential buyers—they have no input to the “stocking process” and their “perfect” car may not be available—so they frequently have to “settle” for something far short of what they want, at a price considerably higher than they want to pay. If they don’t “settle” for something already in the inventory, they have to invest more time and energy searching other lots, and maybe eventually they find something that comes close to what they want—although, most likely, still for a lot more than they wanted to pay. This process clearly favors the dealer over the buyer.Auction houses limit access to their sites to licensed/registered dealers, and do not permit “the public” to participate in the bidding process. Dealer-only auctions are part of a “closed re-marketing system,” operated by auction houses and dealers, designed to move the huge volume of “previously owned” vehicles which result from the American public’s almost insatiable desire for a new car every few years. There are millions of cars which enter the re-marketing system each year, and many of them are in great shape, with lots of options, and low mileage--and the vast majority are bought by dealers at wholesale prices. ~Statements~

Each member of rpoints.com has their own individual statement. This shows the amount of rpoints that they have been awarded and the number of which that are pending. This can be confusing for some new members so it is important that it is explained. The amount of pending points are those that are still to be awarded. From appearing on your statement, points should be awarded after 8 weeks.

The statements are updated on a weekly basis. It is usually the Monday, but the update can sometimes drag into Tuesday. The recurring points for Dealtime, Kelkoo and Lycos are updated daily.

    ~Redeeming Points~

There are a number of ways that you can redeem all of the rpoints that you have earned. There are always new redemption methods being added, aiming to accommodate all of the users. These are the methods that are currently available:

    ~Forums~

The rpoints.com bulletin board is always very lively and active. It is extremely helpful for any user, because it is crammed full with important information and advice to getting the most out of the website. It is also the place to pose questions to the moderators and other members of the site, if you have a problem or query regarding missing points, unclear offers or any other difficulties that you may run into whilst using the website. There is also an announcements section that is always worth keeping an eye, to keep abreast of any changes that are taking place on rpoints.com.

The forum is also the place to post any offers that you have spotted on the internet that you wish to bring to the attention of other members. There are numerous categories which these fall into, freebies and mobile phones to name two. There can be some real bargains to be had here and if you are looking for something in particular you may just find something that fits the bill. The posts are often accompanied by a link to an online shop or store that stock the particular item. If you buy through that shop then you will earn yourself rebate.

    ~Customer Service~

The rpoints.com team do everything they can to respond to your questions and queries as fast as possible. If you post a problem that you have, they will often come up with some sort of answer for you within a few hours. If none of the moderators are around, the more senior members of the site will often give you a pretty solid answer. I think that in this sense, rpoints are second to none. They will always give you a speedy answer, even if it isn't the one you are looking for.

    Site 2: HBUK

Hot Bargains UK is one of the more recent cashback sites to be launched in the UK. It seems to have built upon the success of other similar websites, to take cashback and free clicks earnings to the next level. They have now formed what is almost certainly, the most profitable site of its kind currently in use.

The format and function of HBUK is very similar to other sites such as Rpoints and Cashbag. They aim to provide users with a range of cashback, sign-up and free click offers. Hotbargains is paid by other companies and firms to generate click throughs and sales at their site. For example, if you submit an online query about car-insurance, HBUK will reward you about 30p, though HBUK might be getting 50p from it.

    ~Rewards~

HBUK offer 'points' for tasks done online via their website. For example, they will give you a certain amount of points as cashback for purchases made online. This is the same as Rpoints, who reward their users with points. One point = one pence, and these all easily mount up. HBUK is able to offer these lucrative rewards because they are basically earning a commission themselves, from our activities. This is how the website keeps itself running, and how HBUK operate. This is the same as Rpoints and Cashbag. Without its users these companies will be lost, which is why they try so hard to make themselves appeal to the public.

    ~How to earn~

You can earn money daily on HBUK in the 'recurring points' section. This section of the website only becomes available to members after a weeks membership has elapsed. Once it appears in the menu on the left-hand-side of the website, you may begin earning a few hundred easy-points daily. This is done from various 'clicks'. Many of them are for doing online searches, submitting car-insurance enquiries, etc. There are various different clicks called ‘Top Offers’. These pay as much as 30p a time and you can get three or four per day. There is a link to the site ‘Moneysupermarket’ and you can earn the reward of 25p, three times a day, for clicking through and hitting the ‘Apply’ button. There are the usual suspects, such as Dealtime, Kelkoo, High Street Web, Carsource and Price Guide UK also available. These can earn you at least another ?1 per day.

    ~Payment~

The way that you view your earnings at HBUK is via a special statement, issued weekly to
