OK, you have done the hard work. Your product database is complete. You have the titles, descriptions and the correct prices all in place. The categories for your shop have been set and we are ready to upload.

But what about the pictures to sell the product?

For those who are dipping the toe into bulk uploading for the first time, you do not want to sepdn hours adding images by the long hand method so we advise on the following to help. Please note that we are using MS Excel as an example, but this will work in Works (so we have been informed)

One important note before you start. Save your master file at least TWICE as a different named file (one back up and one working)

    OK lets go.

First of all your items. Give them all a product reference number, either alpha numeric or numerical (AB0001 or 000001). In Excel add the first one into your new column for the reference number. Then drag and fill all your items with their number. This will ensure all items have been numbered in sequence. Please disregard this step if your suppliers images have product references on them (see point 2 below)

Once that is completed, you can begin work on your images. This will vary depending on the source of your pictures and whether it is a new line or not, but it will inform you of the gist of the operation.

In your image folder, do one of the following

1 give item 000001's image the same name (ie 000001.gif or jpg) and repeat for all your images.

2 give your suppliers image reference number to become your items own reference number

Once this is complete and ALL your images have the same name as the product reference (or vice versa) you can now set to work on getting them into your database (or excel spreadsheet)

The steps are set out below.

1 insert a column and name it image_file and inside add your image file reference such as images/my_products/
