Out of all of the possible scenarios she could have chosen to make this work, she decided that she would quit her current job and take advantage of her COBRA benefits for 18 months, she would use part of her savings to invest in the certification training, and she would go on a money diet where she was only allowed to purchase necessities for herself and her business. Once she had decided to take this direction, she spent the last few months of her job using all of her disposable income to pay off her credit card debt. She did not want to go into this with anything hanging over her head. She admitted the money diet was harder than she ever imagined. She did not realize how much money she spent on non-necessities! She also decided to get a part time job in a gym or a studio to earn extra money and gain contacts and then spend all the time she could on creating a business and marketing plan to plan for the long term. Before she made any of these changes, she also made sure the people in her life were on board and she had a support system in place to help her along the way.
