Make Your Feedback Constructive, Not Combative er: Because I take on so few clients now, at higher rates, and the bulk of my income comes from information products, I work LESS than I used to!How to give feedback to employees is one of the most frequent issues that my coaching clients raise. Usually the situation is framed as dealing with a problem employee – someone who won’t listen, doesn’t follow instructions, isn’t careful with his or her work, or somehow isn’t working out. Sometimes the individual really isn’t the right match for the job. More often, though, the real problem is a manager who is not giving clear, actionable feedback about their expectations and the behaviors that need to change. Many people equate giving feedback with initiating a confrontation, and therefore avoid it. One company president confessed that he was afraid to bring up performance issues with an employee because, “I’m afraid he’ll get really angry.” Some managers spend their evening hours re-doing a subordinate’s wor Obviously this shift didn't happe How to Use Articles to Get High Search Engine Ranking I remember when I first launched my first business as a copywriter seven years ago, I had no clue what to charge. Without putting hard thought into what type of results my work gave my clients, I started out with an hourly rate that didn't scare ME! I would still even stutter when I said to clients, "My rate is si- si- si- sixty dollars an hour." Deep down, I wasn't confident in myself, so of course I wouldn't let myself charge more. And of course, as a result I attracted lame clients, worked like a dog, and stayed broke all the time.Perhaps you have seen ads and promotional material online hyping article writing and submission. Perhaps you have wondered--does that really work? Maybe you have even written a few articles, your web site rose a few notches in the search engines and you wonder if the articles have something to do with it.Well, I have tried it. Massive-like. I wrote 15 articles and submitted them to as many as 80 different article directories. Within a short period of time, the two web sites I was promoting had pages ranked in the top ten out of literally millions. One web site made it to number one in Yahoo search engine and is still there six months later. Accident? I don’t think so. I believe in article marketing. So how do you do it?First, write articles about anything related to your web site topic. Well, things are VERY different today. I have no problem saying my consulting rate is $1,000.00 an hour, or that a private mentorship with me starts at a minimum of $10,000. And of course, as a result I attracted lame clients, worked like a dog, and stayed broke all the time. All too often people overlook the importance of guarantees in their marketing. Guarantees perform some basic functions in business, but they can be used far more effectively in marketing your product as well. Typically, you will see standard guarantees like “Double Your Money Back” or “100% Satisfaction Guaranteed”. These types of guarantees are common and serve the purpose of easing the prospects mind, and allowing them to move forward with their purchase. While these guarantees are useful you can use them in much better ways. First, I would recommend using a stronger or more unique guarantee. For instance, “If you aren’t entirely happy with everything I’ve done for you I will personally buy my product back.” This guarantee stands out more, yet you are not saying anything different than before. And, here's the kicker: Because I take on so few clients now, at higher rates, and the bulk of my income comes from information products, I work LESS than I used to!Network marketing is often described as the ultimate “people’s” business. The very term “network” immediately makes us think of a company of people working together, linked by powerful connections. If you are involved in network marketing (also known as Multi-level marketing or MLM) you are in business FOR yourself. But your company assures you that you are not BY yourself. Your organization is not employing you. You are not accountable to a boss. You don’t have to start or finish work at set hours. You don’t have a quota. Your success or failure is dependent on what YOU do. But your company is committed to helping you succeed. In a network marketing business you are responsible for recruiting customers and prospects to buy the product. Perhaps many of you will agree with me. Others know the frustration all too well and won’t want to agree but will acknowledge frustration with a quiet nod!As we have described management disabilities over the past in this mini series, the faults or problems that can easily befall us all are put to the test in the management team. This group has to battle the demons that surround the organization and still come out smelling like roses! In larger organizations, managers feel a need to look good and protect their own credibility. They hire people similar to themselves or people not as smart so they can ‘coach’ them. They look good and their subordinates keep it that way. Wittingly or otherwise. Become an expert in something. Experts are more respected, get media attention, get paid more, and get less price resistance (meaning people are happier to pay you what you ask). I went from being a general copywriter to one who specialized in newsletters. Then in email newsletters. Then I dubbed myself "The Ezine Queen". I had no idea at the time how much that would help me get famous and be remembered. Did you know that Muhammad Ali became known as "The Greatest" because Ali himself said it?
