I want to touch on the subject of Social Bookmarking and it’s implications in helping creating backlinks. Even though Latent Semantic Indexing is the buzz word now a days, we cannot forget backlinks. Think of backlinks as the rope that holds the tent (your site) to the internet. Time and time again I have seen the life of a site diminish if it is not supported by backlinks. I can launch a site, place a blog on the site get it indexed, making money, but 6 months later I lose a portion of my indexing thus, losing a portion of my site portfolio. Those few extra minutes taken per site to create backlinks is pivotal to your online success as you build up your empire.Social bookmarking has been popular for quite some time and wasn’t brought the mainstream until lately. Social bookmarking was sold a cure all for getting your sites indexed and getting great traffic, which can happen, but it is far from a magic bullet.Social Bookmarking sites such as Furl.com, Technorati.com, Stumbleupon.com, Delicous, Spurl , Article Tag, and Backflip just to name a few. Social Bookmarking is extremely easy, just create and account and bookmark your favorite page. These pages are then available on the bookmarking sites. But what

Free Sales Tip - Upselling Helps Salespeople Increase Commission By Raising The Selling Price
Here's a time-saving sales tip that can help salespeople increase their commission and also their income. If your commission is based as a percentage of total sales revenue, upselling can raise your commission and provide you with a higher income. What is upselling? Upselling is offering a client additional products or services, upgrades to higher priced versions of the product or service, additional accessories, or add-ons. For example, if you sell cars, you can offer a premium stereo or rust protector. If you sell home appliances, you could offer extended warranties.Upselling works because you upsell only when you are already guaranteed a sale. When the client agrees to buy, that is when you upsell. Upselling doesn’t need to be complex; it could be as simple as just asking the client if they are interested in additional services. If you don’t ask, you'll never upsell. It really is that easy. Many salespeople are afraid of upselling because they fear being perceived as pushy. You don’t need to worry about that. Just ask your customers in a friendly manner if they want to purchase your extra products or services. Don’t worry about losing a sale. You already have the sale. You are just trying to sell
Having led the eCommerce team at Sears Holdings Corp, I often reflect upon what helped us grow our online revenues from about $20 million in 1999 to almost $1 Billion in 2006? Although I do think that technology played a key role in that growth, it wasn’t the primary reason.

An incident during one of the Christmas seasons helped me answer this question. Christmas is the peak season in US for all retailers and majority of the online and B&M sales occur during this time frame. This is the time when kids hope that Santa will deliver all the toys that they wished for. The stakes are too high because one delayed shipment could mean a disappointed child who has been waiting for that toy for the entire year. So to set appropriate expectations, we added messaging on all our product pages telling the customers to place their orders before the cut off date to ensure Christmas delivery. However, few days

Do You Make These Affiliate Mistakes?
You’ve just come across a fantastic product and you’re thinking of signing up as Affiliate but before you get carried away, here are a few pointers that can save you both time and money!1.Is the sales letter any good, read the headline first it’s been shown that a good headline makes a big difference (it’s been proven that 75% of people make up their minds of purchasing a product just from reading the headline alone.) Is the rest of the sales letter any good, do you find yourself reading being drawn through the sales letter? Would you buy the product yourself? If you would, others probably would as well.2.Are there any “leaks” on the sales page? By leaks I mean are there any thing on the webpage to distract your visitor from making a purchase or a way for you could lose out a commission. For example… •Phone numbers that the buyer could order and deal directly with the seller, letting you lose out on a commission, •E-mail addresses for the same reason as above. •Excessive pop ups or slow loading webpage’s that can frustrate your prospect. (People on the internet want everything in an instant so don’t expect them to hang around!)3.Are there any testimonials on the sales page,

The 6 Fundamentals of Six Sigma Training
The need for Six Sigma training has arisen following two reasons. One, the demands of industry could not be met with the existing limited quality assurance methods and two, the tremendous financial opportunities for corporations that the 6 sigma methodology is creating of late. Many well-known organizations have developed their own Six Sigma training institutes, for in house training of their employees. Realizing the demand that could not be met by companies by themselves, many training institutes and universities have come forward and developed basic Six Sigma training courses.Differences In Six Sigma Training BasicsA quick look at the Six Sigma training course contents of various institutes immediately shows that they vary widely in their central focus, while still keeping the fundamentals of Six Sigma training content intact. However, this is hardly surprising when one realizes that corporations devise courses for training their own employees for more flexibility. However, the Six Sigma training curricula prepared by independent training institutes and universities closely resemble each other, brining credence and uniformity to all Six Sigma training. The Basics Of Six Sigma TrainingDiffer

The Crucial Factor That Determines Whether or Not You Get Free Publicity
Obviously there’s more than one way to get your name in the headlines. You can offer incredible deals or you can do the outrageous. You can discover some new and exciting product or you can be recognized for your services to the community. But ultimately, after all is said and done, getting good publicity is really about one thing and one thing only. It’s about finding ways to meet the needs of others. With a little planning, you can create a machine that allows you to earn a reputation that can keep you in the news.It all starts with your product. What exactly do you sell? No, you don’t necessarily sell satellite dishes or web space. That may be the commodity they walk away with, but ultimately, you have so much more to offer. You can offer courteous explanations before the sale, a decent price during and powerful customer support after. It’s the stuff people talk about at the corner. It’s the gossip around the cooler. Everybody wants to know about that one company that offers so much more than the rest, which, by definition, makes it news.Of course, that creates a serious dilemma. If you’re offering the same product at a lower price, and tossing in more qualified sales pers

Hispanic Market Reality and Purchasing Power
How many Hispanic people live in the US currently. Well there are 35.2 million who are here legally and have 100% undebatable legal rights. Of that 35 million; 59.8% were born here or 21.1 million. There are 40.2% here legally who were foreign born or 14.1 million. That is a hell of a lot of potential customers, isn't it? You could actually have a business and only cater to the Hispanic Crowd to stay in business, think about it?There are Women only clothing businesses, then there are businesses that only cater to over weight women, with large sizes, which you may say limits your market, right? Is it just that we in the automotive business are so darn lucky to have a business that has more cars than people in it?Did you know in some states there are 2.2 cars for every man, woman and child? CA is one of them. For every kid there is a police car, school bus, Fed Ex van USPS jeep, think about it. Cars, boats, motor homes, motorcycles, etc. everywhere on every street all needing oil changes, wow. There is an interesting book that you should read if you do not comprehend what I am saying here; "The Hispanic Middle Class Comes of Age" and also read; "Latinos INC.: The Marketing and Making of a People" BY A

However, few days before the Christmas Eve, our dashboards indicated that we would miss the Christmas shipment for about 300+ toy orders. We immediately formed a SWAT team and ensured that every single order was handled in a white glove fashion and shipped via overnight delivery. The team worked through the weekend to make this happen, and we certainly lost money on these orders. However we gained something really important – the trust of our customers.

This leads me to what I think is the most important factor that is necessary in growing eCommerce in India – Trust. If we look at the Indian context, I feel that there is a general lack of trust between retailers and customers. Consumers don’t trust the retailers because t
