    Profit Covers Many Sins - Ten Principles for Success in 2007
    Profit Covers Many Sins - Ten principles that can help us maintain our focus, uncover some of those sins that may have been covered by profitability in 2006 and create the kind of success in 2007 that you can be proud of:1. Go back to basics in managing your business. ----- Take the time to review best practices as they apply to your business. Look at your processes, your procedures and your policies2. Understand your role in the market place. ----- Do an internal SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) with your management team and initiate a brainstorming or scenario planning session to reflect upon your changing role as a distributor in 2007 and beyond.3. Develop or refine your strategic plans. --- If you don’t have a strategic plan, make it a priority to create one in 2007. It is money well spent. If you do have one, go through an extensive review of all the initiatives.4. Create branch and operational plans that are alignment with your strategies. --- If you have

    What Constitutes a Learning Organization
    The work that was done in the early 90's and subsequently in the field of corporate practice by Peter Senge and his Associates in the Sloan School of Management at MIT and by Chris Argyris and his Associates at Harvard have flowed from academia in to the world of successful corporate management. Senge's theories and experience in his consulting practice at MIT have become the foundation for the theory and practice of what is now known as the learning organization. Senge's work came to the fore through his ground breaking book "The Fifth Discipline" published by Doubleday in 1990.In that book Senge, introduced the concept of five new components which he believed were gradually converging to innovate learning organizations. The five technologies which Senge listed are: Systems Thinking; Personal Mastery; Mental Models; Building Shared Vision and Team Learning. If the learning organization were an engineering innovation , it would be termed a "technology" but since the learning organization is an item of human beh
    Ok, you've got your site built, you have traffic coming to it, a good product at a reasonable price.... hmmm... what else do you need?

    What else could increase your conversion rate?

    Audio!

    All right I know what you're thinking... "Why should I go to all of the trouble of adding audio to my web site?"

    Because it can increase your sales by up to 35%!! That's why.

    Adding streaming audio it isn't as hard as you have been led to believe and you don't even have to pay a monthly fee either. You can start with sound recorder (Pre-installed on every Windows computer) and the free microphone that came with your computer.

    Some of the things you can do with audio to enhance your site are:

    * Create audio greetings

    * Create audio testimonials

    * Narrate tutorials

    * Create audio ezines

    * Add audio files for your visitors to download

    * Create audio articles

    * Add your band's music clips as tempting teasers to get buyers

    * Read children's stories

    * Tell Jokes

    * Sing...

    * Add music as a background to your web site (Tastefully - please!)

    This list goes on and on.

    Let's quickly cover a couple of the items on the list and see what the advantages are.

    Create Audio Greetings:

    Well, I think this one is fun. Don't you often wonder what that "Guru" sounds like? Or even what a web master who has created your favorite web tool or ebook?

    Adding an audio greeting is actually about the easiest thing to do if you want to improve your sales. For most web sites, when done tastefully, the sales can jump up to 35%! People just trust you more and feel like they know you a little better if they hear your voice.

    Also, excitement is contagious. If you are excited about your product, ezine or membership site you can hear it in your voice when you talk about it. SO CAN YOUR CUSTOMERS! And more importantly, your potential customers.

    Audio Testimonials:

    What can I say about this compelling reason, but this... what would be more believable to you - a web site with a bunch of written testimonials or a web site where you can hear the actual voices of current / previous purchasers explaining what benefits they got from the product? How do you even know for sure the written testimonials are real?

    It's hands down the one with the audio.

    All you need is Audacity (Which is free at http://audacity.com) to edit down too long testimonials - actually, is there such a thing as too-long testimonial? Maybe not - and the ability to have customers send you .wav files and a small picture of themselves.

    NOTE: You can get a free script from Will Bontrager at http://willmaster.com that will allow you to accept files from your customers OR you can set up a seperate ftp account at your server for customer uploads. See other articles in this series to learn how to implement this.

    Piece of cake!

    There are a couple of other steps to adding the audio to your site, but I will get to that in other parts of this article series.

    Create Audio Ezines:

    Have you ever heard Jim Edwards "I Gotta Tell You" ezine? (http://igottatellyou.com) Or watched the multi-media ebook and ezine how-to tutorials in Epublishing Express? (http://epublishing-express.com)

    It is so much more compelling to hear someone explain exactly what to do than read a dry ezine (No offense to all the other thousands of ezine writers out there) or ebook (Ditto to you ebook writers) and you learn much faster.

    Did you know that you only retain about 10-15% of what you read once? But that retention goes up to 60% if you hear it at the same time and flies up to 80% for a multi-media presentation.

    How many fewer customer service calls and emails would you get if you customers were retaining 80% of what you were teaching them? I can tell you... a lot!

    Think of all the extra time you would have to promote your business, create new products (Audio and multimedia products of course!) Heck, even spend more time with your family and hobbies.

    How much happier would your customers be if they were able to duplicate your success and complete your tutorials, assignments, or follow your direction?

    Again - a lot! How many more of your customers would buy other products from you if you were successful in teaching them or helping them with your first product? I think you can see where I am going with this...

    So, know that you know how important audio is how do you get started? The first thing you can do is go to http://easy-web-site-audio.com and sign up for the free Audio Tips Ecourse and get a new tip every three days on creative audio uses.

    Communicating to the Subconscious Mind
    An embedded command is a technique used to communicate to the conscious mind while also sending a message to the subconscious mind. The idea is to actually bypass the conscious mind and communicate directly to the subconscious mind. Embedded commands are commonly used in marketing and advertising. Embedded commands are hidden suggestions within written or spoken language. The conscious mind is unaware of their existence.Embedded commands create expectations without creating inner resistance. For example, Pepsi used to have the slogan "Have a Pepsi Day." The embedded command was "Have a Pepsi."The most effective embedded commands are short and concise; they should be no longer than two to four words. It is much easier to use these commands in persuasive writing because you can visually highlight the command. When using this technique, first determine what exactly you are trying to say to your audience. Then, create the sentences where the embedded words and phrase will logically and contextually fit. HR Issues for Managing Contractors
    Using contractors for your IT needs can be a good idea as it allows you to concentrate your company’s resources on your business. You also don’t have to administer holiday and sick pay and collect tax for contractors, and employing a person as a contractor can be up to 30% cheaper than taking them on as a full-time employee.But if you’re going down this route you need to understand exactly what a contractor is. Contractors are engaged to perform specific tasks or to produce certain results, and are usually paid on the completion of the tasks that they’ve been engaged for. They usually• Run their own businesses. • Provide their own equipment or work from their own base of operations. • Determine for themselves how their duties are performed. • Are able to subcontract work.However you need to be careful in employing contractors. Sometimes the law regards them as actual employees. For example, the High Court of Australia said that bike couriers were employees, despite the existence of a

    How Questions Help us Focus on the Reasons Buyers Purchase
    Lets say I want to buy a nail from you, will you ask me why? Or, will you take my order and sell me what I think I need? Will you give me a demonstration on why your nails are superior to the competition? Or, will you ask me questions on how I will use the nails?One reason people fail in sales is a strong belief they must sell their product or service to everyone. I met someone who held this strong belief this weekend when he said “everyone is a potential customer”. This wasn’t the first time I’ve heard this. I worked in an industry where this belief was part of its culture. The sales strategy was to focus on presenting features and benefits.During this era I spent countless hours learning how to demonstrate copier and fax systems, including memorizing sales scripts for each product. We held contests to test our presentation skills and our knowledge of the products and services we sold. This worked well and we sold plenty of equipment. The difference then, was that it was an emerging product line wh
