I did a little experiment the other day with yahoo jobs search, in which I built a fake trashy resume to find out if I would get any spam emails. Low and behold it worked. I got this idea because a few month's earlier I put my resume out on the web looking for job. We'll truth be told soon after I posted my resume online I got hired not through Yahoo Jobs, and I forgot all about my resume on yahoo.
Well I logged into that email address a few months later to discover that I had like 57 emails, I can't lie when I first saw 57 emails in my email account that I never used I felt pretty good about myself. Man can I write a resume a said to myself, low and behold and out of those 57 emails only 4 we're real job offers. Spammers had gotten a hold of my email address. Data Entry Software all over the place. Write this and get money do that and we will hire you, Start an online business, spam spam and more spam. It even looked like the spammers we're pushing there affiliate programs on me.
First of all I知 not blaming yahoo, but these spammers are straight up evil, I could be a starving person with no money, I mean I put my resume on yahoo to get a job so there is a good chance that my financial situation at that time was not to good, and these people at my possible weakest point wanted to take all that I had left, not only my money but my spirit. Wow.
I forgot to mention most of these emails we're not sent through the yahoo Jobs site, they we're sent straight from the spammer. The reason was I left my email address on my resume as a way for companies to contact me. Was I wrong, No; I was looking for a job I wanted to be accessible.
I wrote this letter more as a warning to the next person who puts out they're resume on a job search website. There is a good chance that you could be scammed. I wrote yahoo about this I知 sure they'll get back to me soon what I said was if they could find a way to make the email on a persons website only visible to real companies, If you ever used Yahoo to find a job and used their resume builder it seems like they have everything under control so a person won't get spammed, but I guess no matter what the spammer always
