Patience And Persistance Is the Key To Selling!
Patience and persistence are the keys to selling. Product knowledge is a given today and the odds of you having something unique are quite low. How then do people decide who to buy from? When people are confronted with options how do they decide? First, they usually have to want something or be convinced that they want something. The person who wants something is a person ready to become a buyer, he or she justs need to choose from a multitude of sellers. Probably the first option would be to buy from a vendor he or she previously bought from or a person that he or she has a comfort level with. If you are not currently his vendor how do you get this buyer to have confidence in you and your product? Chances are that this will take time. Most cold calls do not result in an immediate sale. What you should be looking for is to lay the foundation for a future sale. You should exude confidence in yourself and product, without being aggresive or pushy. Let the buyer know what you sell and what he can gain from maintaining a relationship with you. Even if you don't make a sale, try to give this buyer something useful. It might be a promotional product that is handy and will leave a reminder of your company. It might be just some good advice on his purchase or it might just be a better compa

    Job Search: Age-Proofing Your Resume
Older job hunters fear interviews where their age cannot be concealed and where an initial response of dismay on an interviewer's face, quickly hidden, confirms their anticipation of discrimination. The mature job seeker often prefers the anonymity of mailed resumes, e-mailed inquiries, internet applications, and telephone contacts.Interviews, however, are the goal of everyone who wants to work. There is so much pre-selection and screening before an interview is granted that simply getting that far in the process provides at least some expectation of an offer being made. It is when interviews are not forthcoming that real concern is needed. Ask yourself if you may be inadvertently triggering screening filters by the documentation you submit.Review the following three "red flags" and identify if your own presentation could be outdated and needlessly sabotaging your employment campaign.1. Old Educational Data. You may have obtained a degree or completed a vocational course many years ago. While you obviously cannot change the year of your graduation, you can concentrate on detailing other training received more recently. Any classes, workshops, or seminars attended over the past couple of years, even something in progress, stamps you as an individual who is contin

5 Tips for Maximum Business Success
1.Be aware of what your competition is doing but don’t “compete” with them. To do so results in a game of “leapfrog” – this year your product’s a little better, next year, theirs is a little better, etc. This is a tough way to do business. This is the way to stay at breakeven or less. Instead, keep your focus on your customers and on how to “create” a better world for them. You’ll soon be so far ahead of the competition that it will just be you and your customers in the game. Where does one start in getting out of this game of leapfrog? That leads us to the next tip…2.Start the ball rolling with strategy. Developing a strategy – a plan of action to reach a certain destination or goal – is the start. Think of all the most successful businesses that you know of or have heard of. What is their strategy? They all have one. Some have referred to this as a big, hairy, audacious goal. This is how a business moves away from reactive mode and into proactive mode. This is how you “energize” your employees – they become a part of something that is bigger than themselves – really turning them on. Here are some questions to ask. What opportunities already exist that match and align with your strategy and will move you closer to its fruition? What new opportunities

Does Your Website Lack Luster? Learn To Make It A Marketing Machine!
Does your website not live up to its fullest potential? Does it not deliver the leads or sales that you originally hoped for? Does it give an inaccurate representation of poor professionalism? Is it such a pain to update that you have almost given up on it?As a web design and internet marketing firm we come across complaints like these every day, and with good reason. Gone are the days when having a successful web presence simply meant throwing up a simple page with your name, address, and phone number. The internet is becoming more competitive every day and it is important to triumph over your competitors in the online realm of cut throat marketing. Here are a few key tips to get you headed in the right direction to have a profitable website:Would you buy a pair of shoes in a run-down, dirt floor, straw hut? Although this is an extreme example hopefully you got the idea. If your website does not convey that your company is professional, respected, trusting, and better than your competition then most likely your website visitors will not want to purchase your products/services or give you their contact information. Yes, this does cost some time and money, but it is well worth the investment. Too many websites give the impression that the real b

    Leading Change; It's 24-7
Change has been occurring since before the beginning of man, so it is a fair bet that it will not stop soon. Whether organisations like it or not, they will change.External influences change the constraints an organisation has, the expectations their stakeholders place upon them and change the values and capabilities of their people. What separates organisations from one another is how they deal with change. Some react to change along a conservative line, waiting until the last moment to adapt to change. They resist change at every turn, believing in the intrinsic value of "tradition". They tend to be backward looking, remembering the "good old days" and ignoring the here and now. They do gain some advantage in being able to learn from others mistakes and successes. Unfortunately for them, if they face competition change may come too late to survive. If they have a monopoly then it is time to pity their poor customers for having to suffer products and services befitting the era of their parents or grandparents. If they are a government entity then pity the poor country as it loses competitiveness in an ever freer global trading environment. Some go along with the flow, not resisting change but not embracing it. They take a somewhat conservative line, sensing
