    Writing Guarantees that Sell
“This offer is good but can you guarantee it.”Why write a guarantee for your product or service? It reduces the risk in the eyes of your customers, enough to turn a cynical customer into a convinced customer. So, what makes a good guarantee? Besides the obvious, “I guarantee it,” strong guarantees include elements that not only ease the customers’ fears but also reinforce your offer. Before you put your guarantee in writing, here are some tips to keep in mind.* Emphasize the benefit in each guarantee. Say you’re selling an energy supplement. Write a statement saying, “If you’re not drinking less coffee, skipping down the street, or simply more energetic after thirty days, just ask

    Responding to Complaints
It's possible that in the course of your business dealings, you may (just may) have to deal with a complaint from a customer or client ....There are two ways you can go about this:1. You can stand up for your rights (and lose the customer and any possible referrals)2. You can keep your temper and keep your customerREPLIES TO COMPLAINTSMost businesses these days have (or should have) as their policy that the customer is always right. It's far better business sense to replace a couple of items which don't need replacing, and reap the reward of customer satisfaction and possible referrals, than to insist on your rights and lose unknown numbers of customers and referral
What is it with people today? They cannot have a discussion about any topic without slides, even when the discussion is between colleagues within the same division or department or area of expertise, and when there are only two or three people involved in the discussion.

To CFOs and other line managers who are counting the beans and looking for more productivity, I suggest imposing a moratorium on slide generation unless there will be an audience of 10 or more, and the slides will actually be projected. Otherwise, those offering their knowledge and suggestions should use some long standing tools such as agendas, reports, white papers or memos to communicate the order of topics, the key points for each topic and the call-to-action or follow up items.

A director of marketing (DM) for a growing firm is tasked with telling the director of sales (DS) how the marketing department is going to generate leads. This is a straightforward topic for discussion. I see three key points: 1) how many leads will be provided to the sales department in a given period of time; 2) how will marketing advise sales on the quality of the leads; and 3) how will marketing know that what they’re doing is working?

The DM has two superiors, each of whom is telling her what bullets must be included in the slides she is preparing. They have told her that the DS “must understand” their thinking. So far the slides have expanded to include lists of bullets on the marketing objectives; the marketing strategies; the marketing tactics; the marketing creative direction; the marketing spending plan.

Direct Mail and Direct Mail Marketing for Truck Washes with Multiple Bays
If you are thinking of starting a truck wash or buying an existing truck wash or even if you currently own a truck wash then you need to full up each day with lines of trucks to wash, no matter what day it is. If you own a truck wash, which is busy but you have multiple bays then you need to make sure all the bays are always busy. How can this be done you ask?Well perhaps you might consider a robust yet inexpensive marketing and advertising program might do the trick. Let me explain; you see, direct mail and direct-mail marketing coupon packages for truck washes with multiple bays means that you can keep your truck wash busy. Direct-mail marketing does not cost that much and the return on inv

Interview Questions: Are You Considering Any Other Jobs?
In other words, are you interviewing with any companies other than ours? This is a common question that interviewers ask when you are interviewing with them for a job with their firm.In other words, do you have any other jobs on the go that could result in someone else hiring you?Part of you might think that saying “yes” to this question will make it look like you are not 100% interested in the position with this company and that the potential employer will look at this negatively.Another part of you might think that saying “no” to this question will make it look like you have no other options available and are having trouble finding a job, thus reducing the company’s inter

Incorporating a New Business in Florida
When you are starting a new business in Florida, you can set it up under sole proprietorship, a cooperative, or as a corporation. If you go with incorporating, it is the process of forming a new corporation, which can be set up as a business, a non-profit organization, or a new government of a new city or town.Setting up your business as a corporation in Florida reaps several legal benefits.A corporation is separate from your personal assets, meaning in the event of a lawsuit or filing for bankruptcy, creditors cannot go after you and claim your personal assets as compensation for the debt of your corporation. Your stockholders, directors, and officers are also protected from being held

    HR Systems
The human resource system is a core enterprise application for managing administrative and strategic processes related to an organization's most critical asset, its people. Effective and prompt management of the 'human capital' is a complex, but imperative activity to all human resource professionals. The functions of HR consists of tracking multitudinous data on each employee, which includes personal history, personal data, skills, capabilities, work experience, remuneration records, etc. To reduce the workload of HR professionals, organizations automated many of these processes by introducing Human Resource Management Systems. The client-server HR management systems are mainly developed

The DM is an experienced marketing professional, she has many creative ideas, and a deep understanding of the decision-making process that goes through prospects’ minds as they decide to act or not. She is passionate about the service that her company is offering to its target audience. Yet as she rewrites and revises the list of bullets for each topic using the exact words her superiors dictate, all of her passion and commitment is being drained away. This is becoming just another series of bullets, going on page after page, which she is then supposed to communicate to the DS, who will have the pages in front of him, and who could probably read them faster than she can speak about them.

Wouldn’t a written document make more sense? The DM could pour her passion and knowledge into prose that communicates her commitment to the ultimate sales goal. Her writing would model the creativity she is bringing to the marketing work. She could spend her time developing a quantitative marketing plan that demonstrates the strategies and tactics more effectively than any list of bullets could do. There, in black and white, would be the results, rather than the static thinking that goes into getting the results.

Let’s assume that the Director of Marketing earns $80,000 per year. That roughly translates into $40.00 per hour. By my calculations she has already spent 100 hours writing, revising, practicing, revising, and practicing some more. That’s $4000.00 for a presentation to one person who will have the slides in front of him. Take into consideration the time the DS will spend listening to the DM speak about the bullets, and the time the DM’s superiors have spent telling her what to write in the slides, and the total could easi
