It seems like right when everything is going great, something will come back and remind you of your self-image. If your self-image is particularly low, then you will find it hard to move on to other things that you are looking to do. You will find that you become overly critical of your projects and products. The best way to move beyond this is to raise your self-esteem.The first thing to do in raising self-esteem is to look at why you are down on yourself at the moment. Figure out what is wrong, and what you want to change. You might want to put these down on paper. Write down everything that you don’t like about yourself, everything that you are upset about in your own mind. Once you have this list compiled, take it outside with you. Yet year after year we learn of similar programs coming on the market. What does this tell us about the effectiveness of such programs?Well in my view it simply re-inforces my conclusion that these programs simply create a co-dependency between the client and the service provider. That is because once the relationship ends the client sooner or later relapses.Perhaps some of these clients really want a relationship that is being supplied through their contact with another individual who is "caring" and who will pay them a great deal of attention. For some this may be the only significantly caring relationship they have in their lives.
