    Change Stinks or Does It?
This morning as I walked the two miles around a neighborhood lake, I noticed that the leaves have begun to change and I marveled at the consistency of nature’s changing schedule. I realized that change is constant. There is always something changing in our lives. Some changes have more of a life impact than others: changing a hair style, a career path

Psychologist Abraham Maslow (1908-70) describes our human potential as a journey toward becoming a complete person, or “Toward a Psychology of Being”. Maslow’s pyramid, or hierarchy of needs, tracks the human journey to self-actualization, the fulfillment of ones greatest human potential. Positive Words
When writing a resume never forget the power of your words. I have time and time again seen where job seekers have written things like work requirements. An employer is not looking for work requirements. This informs them that you were required to do it, and may not have wanted to. How about something more positive such as on the job acomplishments. Th
Since founding her practice in 1978, Helen Harkness has guided more than 8,000 private clients in making life changes that line up better with their Living Goals. Harkness asks new clients to list their success criteria, or things that give their lives purpose. Then they evaluate how their jobs live up to these needs. This also becomes their prescription for what they're looking for next. Helen says,

“We have to distinguish between the glass balls that we’re juggling and the rubber ones. If you drop a glass ball, it breaks. You can glue it back, but it will be distorted. Rubber balls you can drop and pick up later.”

“Many successful people –both women and men – are saying, ‘My children are a big glass ball, and my marriage is a big glass ball. I’m going to honor that and step back and go with a lesser need to achieve.’”

Defining yourself as a hyperkinetic Type A or an introspective Type B is irrelevant, she said. “We have to be Type CCs, Chaos Catalysts," Says Helen, "because we live in a chaotic world. And while you may not be able to predict what chaos or tornado lies ahead, you’ll be prepared to handle it when it hits."

“Another key thing you have to have in today’s world is a very sharp crap detector,” says Harkness in a way that tells you hers is set on high. “There are too many old rules that simply should not be followed. Many executives have gotten to the top by leaving parts of themselves behind,” said Harkness. “There’s a need for growth that they’re not getting from the corporate world.”

Fuller Lips Without Injections or Surgery?
Once again, very full lips are one of the most sought after "assets", thanks in large part to a very popular and sexy actress that seems to appeal to both men and women. Plastic surgeons say the most often requested lips they would like to imitate are Angelina Jolie's. And who can blame them? You can't deny the sensuality and femininity of a full pair of li

    Christian Matchmaking
Religion is a very obvious criterion while selecting a match, since two ersons from a similar religious background will share common values and ideals. The tenets of Christianity are about basic human values, and easy to follow in everyday life. Add to this the fact that Christianity is perhaps in sheer numbers the largest religion in the world, and one can s

Copywriting Makeover: Making An Emotional Connection - Part 2 of 2
In part one of this article series we began looking at the Cruise Vacation Center site: a travel site whose copy was sorely lacking in emotional appeal and visual imagry. (You can see the previous version of the copy here: http://www.copywritingcourse.com/CruiseVacationC

Maslow has became known as the Father of Creativity and Innovation. His contribution to the field of psychology is excellent in terms of putting finite measurements on what is an infinite process. We all need to be a part of this creative growth process so that we don't lose parts of ourselves.

While we are all somewhere on the journey to becoming a complete person what I term Children of Creativity and Wisdom, we will never, at least on earth, just arrive to a state of finished perfection or condition of absolute certainty. This isn't realistic. It's a myth. We will always need to be connected to a creative process of growth and to keep an eye out for the Glass Balls. Humility, compassion, cooperation, and negotiation as well play an important role in the human creative process as they remind us of what is most important to us, and of the delicacy and complexity of human life. Becoming a chaos catalyst is an important skill for navigating in a complex, ever-changing world filled with a variety of perspectives.
