Customer Service in Auto Services is NOT Offending Women Customers
In the auto services industry there are generally more women customers than men. This is because men will typically do some of the auto services and preventive maintenance on their car themselves, whereas women customers will have someone else like an auto shop do the services for them.Even women who have men around the house will sometimes have a man take their car to the auto service shop for them. Still, even with that there are still more women customers by about 15% more.Needless to say customer service in the auto services industry is about pleasing your women customers and when they fill out reader service cards or customer service surveys you need to listen to what they say.Women customers would like to see more women at the facility and not a bunch of guys gawking at them. Women customers would also like to see clean bathrooms and a clean waiting area. Women customers do not like to see trash around the facility or around the landscaping.Women customers do not wish to be over-sold or treated in a condescending manner. Women customers do not like greasy fingerprints on their car when you are done. Women customers would like to have some women's type magazines in the waiting area and not ones, which are two years old.Women customers also like to have an awards program or a discount if they are regular customers. Please trust me when I tell you that all these things are comments that I have read on our

How to Hire Your First Cleaning Employee
You may have started your cleaning company part-time and thought that as the business grew you could quit your "day job" and put more time into the business. But as your cleaning business grows you may find you can no longer manage all the tasks you need to handle, no matter how much time you devote to it. If you do not have time to market your business or to keep in contact with your clients regularly, it may be time to think of adding an employee. Hiring help not only allows you to keep your cleaning business growing, but also allows you to take some much needed and hard earned time off.Start your hiring process by making a list of the tasks needed in your cleaning business and then decide on those you want (or need) someone else to do. Your first employee should be more than just someone who takes the extra work off your shoulders. This individual should be able to help with the overall growth of your cleaning business by helping not only with cleaning responsibilities, but by making sure they provide great customer service. As you start the hiring process, decide on the job title and prepare a comprehensive job description. This will help you to focus on the responsibilities you want your employees to have, and then when you hire your first employee, he or she will know what his or her duties are.As well as a job description, you will need a way to evaluate job performance. You should give a written evaluation regularly. Durin

    Looking For A Business
Finding a business to open is not as easy as it sounds. Pre-work is necessary if the business is to even survive. For example, when thinking about a brick and mortar store leg work is needed for location and the type business. First, an area is needed. One needs to search the target area and determine what businesses are already operating. That allows one to select a business that is new to that area, which assures customers. If the town or local area is not important, then choose a college town, with a location near the college. Second, the best location in any area is a street corner where there is heavy traffic, and with parking. Quickly it is seen that just renting a store building and filling it with products is not the best idea. Doing the homework is a must.An online business is harder to determine in some ways. In some it is easier. Setting up an online business is harder because the businesses are worldwide already. No doubt you have received all kinds of offers via email. And searching the Internet can be disheartening for it seems that anything and everything is already available. It is easier to set up online and cheaper running from free web sites to a some what costly dot.com. If you are fairly proficient with HTML, etc, then setting up a dot.com may not be very expensive. Cost up front then may not be expensive, and is likely less expensive than setting up a brick and mortar store. There are some keys, or thoughts, that

    Business Pain or Business Gain?
Before we begin a thorough discussion of business pain, let's take a look at what it really means. The words Business Pain are batted around by almost everyone I talk to in the marketing and sales fields. It is probably one of the more misused words when describing the help a company needs to become more efficient and effective. When you try to find out what a business worries about, you will find that you get a different answer from each person you talk to in the organization. That is because the "business pain" will be different for each department or section. The sales force will likely tell you that the pain is not getting orders out on time. The order department will say that the sales force over promises, the administration will say that expenses are too high, and the executive will say that there are not enough profits. All of them will be correct. So how do you determine what the real pain is?If you begin with the top decision makers, they will have an overall picture of where they think there company should be in the way of market share and profitability. This big picture will show you where they currently are and where they want to go. It is here that the decisions are made to make improvements. It is also here that the risk is identified and the plans to alleviate the pain are put together. If you want the true definition of business pain, start with the CEO and then piece together the other parts that cause the pain as described.beginning of their careers will feel good about their choice of employer, fit in more quickly with peers and colleagues and readily contribute new ideas.

    Personal Background Check
A personal background check enables employers to get an idea of an applicant’s professional and emotional fit with reference to company credo. The background check can begin with a reference check that covers both personal and professional references.A review of credit reports offers useful insight and concrete information regarding an employee. The type and number of credit accounts and the bill-paying record is a fair indicator of an individual’s suitability, particularly for accounts-related positions. The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows employers to utilize information available in an individual’s credit record in order to assess their suitability for a job. Details provided in a credit report serve as a useful counter-check for information made available by the applicant.Employers should take care that their personal background check resources are verifiable and that they do not violate privacy and equal opportunity legislations. Information obtained during a personal background check helps the company to build a clear picture of the applicant; the information can include criminal records, debt, age, past residences, marital status, and past jobs. The information provided by third-parties is usually marked “verified” or “unverified”. This helps companies to decide quickly whether they wish to entertain a job application or not. In order to obtain a well-rounded picture of an individual, the personal background check company may ga

    Be Wary of Green Washing
Products on market today that claim to be recycled or have recycled content in them may not be true. Because there are not any regulations in place about recycled content, it's often confusing and misleading to consumers. By distinguishing the difference between what Post Consumer Waste and Post Industrial Waste, Consumers can make more educated decisions on the products that they purchase.Post-Consumer Waste can be defined as paper that has already been used and returned through a recycling program, and keeping it out of the landfill. This process usually involves removing the inks from these materials and then processed to make new paper or board. Office paper waste makes up the majority of post-consumer waste content that is used to make recycled copy and printing papers.Pre-Consumer or Post Industrial Waste can be materials that have not met their intended end-use by a consumer and include allowable waste left over from manufacturing, converting, and printing processes. Examples: mill-converting scraps or trim to pulp substitutes. Some products claim to have recycled content by using mill broke (trim and bi-product removed during production) and low or no Post Consumer Content. Read the fine print! As a nation, we create a lot of post consumer waste that should be converted into new materials. Rebinder is made from a minimum of 35-38% Post Consumer Recycled Waste. There are some binders on the market claiming to be made

But poor orientation of new employees can cost you dearly.

Those who don’t start right don’t tend to stay long, either. High staff turnover means you must recruit, hire, orient and train new staff all over again.

Staff turnover also takes a high toll on the morale of those who remain behind. When people leave your organization, those who remain inevitably wonder if they
