Sometimes we feel uncomfortable when we have to pull employees up - but this need not be the case if we do it in the right manner. Hence this tip! Do you remember when your parents told you to eat your veg because they were good for you? Now that you're an adult, you know they were right! Well, just as they were right from the beginning, I'm asking you to trust me when I tell you this: "Constructive feedback is the only way to learn and develop -both personally and professionally" That means, you as Manager, have a responsibility to your staff to help them develop. That means, you have to give constructive feedback. What is constructive feedback? First, I'll tell you what it's not. Constructive feedback is not criticism (which has a negative connotation because it is so often generalised and personal). Constructive feedback is a not personal (e.g. you are lazy), but a targeted response to an individual's action or behaviour (e.g. you did not accomplish the task you agreed to complete) that is intended to help them learn, and is delivered from a place of respect. No matter what the cost it may be all they want is to achieve the satisfaction and have the quality they want for their materials.Offset printing is a method that most commercial printer applies. This process is said to be standard yet the quality or the final product still underlies on the guidance, expertise and equipment provided by the printer.Defining the term offset printing – it simply pertains to a very simple principle where the ink and water don’t mix. The images and words are placed on plates, dampened first by water then followed by the ink. The ink then adheres to the image area, water to the non-image area. From this process the images are now transferred for a rubber blanket and from the rubber blanket to paper. Sequentially the process is called offset because, the image does not go directly to the paper from the platesTaking a deeper understanding about offset printing, the following are the steps on how offset printing works.Step 1 – The Pre-press ProductionThis process requires all your documents be placed on printing plates. personally and professionally"When you embark on the journey of organizational change you will undoubtedly encounter resistance. It is the inevitable friction between where you want to go and where you are. It is the result of many things but one thing is for sure, if you don’t deal with it … it will deal with you. Resistance to change comes for many reasons but falls into one of four categories.1. Genuine interest. 2. Genuine interest on steroids. 3. Guerilla resistance. 4. The Gandhi Syndrome.Let’s take a more detailed look at each type of resistance and what you can do about it.1. Genuine interest …When any change initiative is announced, from a new sales program to a full blown system implementation, many people in the organization will express genuine concern based on their very real interest in your company. Resistance like this is healthy and should be encouraged early in the change initiative. You address resistance of this type by doing one or all of the following.a. Address known concerns in your initial communications. b. Be sensitive in your meetings and gather concerns and feedback and address what you can in the meeting, in more difficult questions address with the individual privately. c. Seek out key people to use as a sounding board and privately discuss their concerns.Resistan That means, you as Manager, have a responsibility to your staff to help them develop. What Will You Do With It? which has a negative
connotation because it is so often generalised and personal).Ideas come to us at all times of day, sometimes when we least expect it. Many professional entrepreneurs are trained to spot new business opportunities and, to them, generating business ideas is run-of the-mill work. But average people also think up new business ideas, on the whole probably millions of times daily, all around the world. You've probably had times where you had been sitting around with your buddies where a conversation topic triggered someone to say something like, "Hey, that would make for a good business idea." Everyone would nod in agreement, maybe discuss it for a few minutes, and that would be the end of it. Nobody ever takes it upon themselves to actually take the business idea to a new level. The idea never comes to fruition; it remains just that, an idea. You, yourself, have probably dreamt up numerous ideas. But what do you do when you come up with a hot new business idea? If you’re like most people, you do nothing. Doing nothing is the easiest thing to do. You cannot fail if you do nothing. But you cannot succeed either. You probably drive to work every day. You work 9-5. You probably don't like it much either. But have you ever stopped to think about how the company you work for started? It probably started with someone thinking up a hot new business idea, just like you have many times Constructive feedback is a not personal (e.g. you are lazy), but a targeted response to an individual's action or behaviour (e.g. you did not accomplish the task you agreed to complete) that is intended to help them learn, and is delivered from a place of respect. The manufacturing jobs in the US are at crisis and in the case rural OH, where they are between big cities and big industries and shippable locations, it has the potential to pull through. It has a lot going for it, but the world price competition for labor costs and pirated after market parts are also taking its toll as emerging nations move into swoop entire manufacturing sectors of various industries. In Youngstown the new construction is 10:1 in square feet of new homes to commercial properties, which makes home values good for now and increases certain areas on the side of town where the middle class congregates, but also it hurts the urban flight and crime problems plaguing nearly all of America as Suburbs grow like lawns with ride on garden tractors. In Youngstown they have 27 Industrial and office parks, 1 FTZ, 17 of which have rail service by CSX, and what is OHIO’s solution after raising the sales tax 1% which will cost the state an estimated 900 million in capital inflow? And God, yes God only knows how many jobs? Their solution no kidding is to allow slot machines in Horse and Car Race Tracks and of course tax them? Outrageous? That is the solution to their economic plan? Sounds like th Constructive feedback does not blame, but presents a collaborative approach to problem-solving. (e.g. If we are all to go home tonight on time, task A needs to get done. What support can the team offer to finish task A, so that everyone gets to go home on time.) Why constructive feedback works... Constructive feedback enables us to give honest, "tough messages" to those with whom we work. However, instead of insulting, shutting-down others, or alienating those who receive the feedback, and thus lowering their morale and their resulting productivity, it motivates them to ask for help, and acknowledge a skill or competency deficiency, while feeling supported and respected. Two of the most important factors influencing employee retention/satisfaction are: "great boss," and "feeling part of a team" (Hay Group Study on retention). Constructive feedback, because it is delivered out of respect and a genuine desire for the individual to improve, accomplishes both. Providing feedback, in this way, enables you to build the competency and cohesiveness of your team, while effectively managing performance issues. It also enables you to remain respected, well liked, and overall, considered " a great boss." Principles of feedback 1. Choose correct timing for feedback Praise is most effective when given as soon as possible after the behaviour has occurred. Immediate feedback will help to reinforce a correct behaviour and make it more likely to happen again. When an incorrect behaviour is not corrected with feedback, the staff member may incorpo
