There are also women here and throughout the world that fail to think about the long term commitment of raising a child and engage in sex without birth control or protection. They may be hoping to win their partner’s love or trap a man into marriage or financial support. The children fathered by these men and women are often born in poverty and the cycle repeats itself.

So how do we solve the problem of aids and world population? Wisdom, self-government, and the ability to think things through are the greatest defense we could offer, but this is not a commodity we can dispense. Education, literacy and access to birth control will help, but it’s not all encompassing. Social and fiscal responsibility for our children needs to be foremost. By engaging in solutions to the aids epidemic we may likely find solutions to reducing and managing the world population. We need to keep in mind that as we fight this disease, we must also fight social reforms, political agendas, and illiteracy.
