My sister often tells me that if I acted more normal, people would understand me and care about what I have to say. And there was a time when I almost thought that she was right. Then I realized just what it was that made a person normal and instead decided to strive for better.

Why anybody would want to be normal is beyond me. But people do shoot for it. They get caught up into the hustle and bustle of a normal life, somewhere giving up their own individuality in some desperate attempt to be and fit in with other normal people. They take on behaviors, beliefs and values of the groups they belong to. They assimilate into the culture of whatever groups they regularly associate with. They concern themselves with what everybody else cares about, dress how everybody else dresses, does what everybody else does, wants what everybody else wants etc.

Many normal people even pride themselves on their individuality, which is kind of an oxi-moron if you ask me. You can sum it up what ever way you want. Normal people are nothing special. It’s as simple as that. Why? Because normal simply means average.

What was a grade of C in school? Average. What was an A+? Outstanding. Is an A+ normal? No, why? Because only the best get an A+. Statistically speaking, where is the highest point on the bell curve regarding student grades? At the C. So the C is normal? Or is the A+ just more normal then the C? No, that wouldn’t make sense. So why would anybody who would want to strive for any form of greatness want to be normal? Only outstanding students get A+’s and only inferior students get failing grades. Normal students get C’s. So if you want to be normal, strive for a C in school.

You also can’t come up with any innovative or radical ideas, because normal people wouldn’t do that.
