The Sales Lead List and Why You No Longer Need It
Why the sales lead list is a list of people who won't buy your stuff...Three elements of modern advertising and sales have recently passed on; unfortunately, only a few of us heard about the funeral, leaving the rest of us to lead our daily business sales as if nothing ever happened.Gone: the influence of big media advertising over the hearts and minds of the people. People are far too smart these days and know when they're being sold something; TV watching hours are down across the board, and who doesn't choose to download their music over listening to the radio these days?Only the very, very creative pieces will survive. Follow-through sales are plummeting.Gone: the poster age. Even the simple act of aggressive sales advertising in any media, where fancy images or a catch phrase used to win people over and lead them to the carrot, is now considered so repulsi

It's the Headline, Stupid! - Writing Powerful Headlines
"It's the headline, stupid," is the sign that hangs over my computer screen. It reminds me that to write effective articles, press releases, sales letters--whatever I want people to read--I need a powerful, grabber headline or title. You are competing with a lot of others to get the attention of potential readers and customers, and you have only a few seconds to grab them. By using the tips and techniques here, you can stand out from the crowd with dynamite headlines.Use alliteration. That means using words that begin with the same sound, such as "Peter's Perfect Plan."Take a familiar saying and turn it around. Take a cliche and put a new spin on it. What does the early bird get (instead of the worm) in your headline?Be timely. Reference something in the news, a holiday, or other happening that is on readers' minds.Use numbers. From our deconstruction of hundreds of Hollywood blockbusters at www.managing-creativity.com/

The Hero's Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. In fact, ALL of the Hollywood movies we have deconstructed are based on this template.

Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters.

    The Hero's Journey:

    a) Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.

    b) Gives the writer more structural elements than simply three or four acts, plot points, mid point and so on.

    c) Interpreted metaphorically, laterally and symbolically, allows an infinite number of varied stories to be created.

    and more...

Tips and Advice on How to Avoid Being Ripped Off When Shopping Online
As someone who has marketed online for a number of years I wanted to provide some tips based on my accumulated knowledge of what are some of the characteristics of a reputable online merchant or website. However, these characteristics are certainly no guarantee that a merchant will be in business next month, virtually no business stays in business forever.Based on my experience both marketing online and shopping online I’ve learned what website characteristics to look for to have confidence in purchasing from any internet merchant or website. So exactly what do I look for on a webpage when making a purchase online.First I recommend you look at the quality and number of pages of quality content the website has. A person looking to ripoff or take advantage of people is typically not going to invest a lot of time and resources in a website. It’s not financially expedie

What's the Difference Between: A Lawyer, Solicitor, Advocate, Barrister, Counselor, and an Attorney?
Have you ever wondered where all these somewhat confusing terms came from? Well the answer is they are all types of Lawyers originated from various legal systems. Work Scheduling and Efficiency
Work scheduling is one of the most time consuming aspects of a consulting business. First you have the issue of work scheduling that goes into your evenings and weekends and then you have to juggle which clients to schedule when and for how long. When you first start out, work scheduling for evenings and weekends may be a necessity. You have to pay the bills and if that means supplementing 9-5 clients with the occasional evening or weekend job that's ok. When you find most of your work is scheduled for evenings and weekends, then you have a problem.Look to start phasing out some of these nights and weekend jobs as much as possible. Reserve work scheduling for nights and weekends for major emergencies and prescheduled major upgrades. These are not regular occurrences and they might only happen once or twice a year per client.
