    Accelerating Affordable Housing
With real estate prices experiencing a bit of a pull back in many markets and topped out in others we see that so many people may not be able to buy homes based on their current wages and rising interest rates. Even more alarming is that many who had bought homes at or near the top of the market with variable loans may find their interest rates increa

The 188 stage Hero's Journey (Monomyth) is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. In fact, ALL of the hundreds of Hollywood movies we have deconstructed (see URL below) are based on this 188+ stage template.

Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters. This is the template you must master if you are to succeed in the craft.

[The terminology is most often metaphoric and applies to all successful stories and screenplays, from The Godfather (1972) to Brokeback Mountain (2006) to Annie Hall (1977) to Lord of the Rings (2003) to Drugstore Cowboy (1989) to Thelma and Louise (1991) to Apocaplyse Now (1979)].

    THERE IS ONLY ONE STORY

    THE 188 STAGE HERO'S JOURNEY:

    a) Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.

    b) Gives the writer more structural elements than simply three or four acts, plot points, mid point and so on.

    c) Gives you a tangible process for building and releasing dissonance (establishing and achieving catharses, of which there are usually four).

    d) Tells you what to write. For example, at a certain stage of the story, the focus should be on the Call to Adventure and the micro elements within.

    Profiting From Mistakes
For many years now, getting traffic from search engines when people misspell a word has been a popular technique. I've often read that you should include spelling errors in the meta keyword tag on your page. Unfortunately, there is a problem with this advice.None of the search engines actually index the meta keyword tag!So, this doesn't

New Housing Starts Do Not Guarantee Aftermarket Sales
We have been studying a trend of new home buyers in the US in light of this latest housing boom. And how we should adjust our strategies to deal with it. Last year we saw 5.56 million sales of existing homes and we all know that the number of brand new homes was substantial to say the least. This incredible surge in new housing starts was due primaril

    *****Foreshadow of Push or Pull*****

Foreshadows (a setup or predictor of a coming sequence) are an underestimated aspect of story telling. They provide linkages between scenes and sequences. Similarly, Pushes and Pulls are an underestimated aspect of story telling. They push or pull the Hero from one state to another. In Bonnie and Clyde (1967), Bonnie pays for the groceries; the grocery boy knows something is going on and will soon call the police.

*****Resisting the Crossing of the Return Threshold*****

The Return Crossing is dangerous. There is resistance and a Period of Dissonance. In Brokeback Mountain (2005), Junior wants to stay with Daddy again.

    *****New World of the Transformation*****

It is not unusual for the New World of the Transformation to be made explicit and developed before the hero engages in the Trials and Transformation. In Walk the Line (2005), Johnny moves straight from succeeding at the audition to singing in front of a crowd, where he meets June Carter. In Gladiator (2000), Maximus is brought into Proximo's World.
