Making Money With eBay Exclusivity Agreements
To supercharge your eBay business you need to find a way to stand out from the crowd. You need to develop a strategy that will allow you to distinguish your auctions from those of other eBay sellers. One of the top selling strategies for eBay sellers involves having merchandise which other eBay sellers do not have. While this is a simple strategy which is devastatingly powerful, it is very hard to implement. As the number of eBay sellers grows so does the competition for wholesale sources.Even small wholesale suppliers are contacted on a daily basis by eBay sellers hungry for merchandise. But there is a solution that can keep your eBay product source off

Current Estimate of Economic Impact of Options Backdating
I had a discussion with Erik Lie about the experiences with Stock Options Backdating (SOBD) and the economic impact of his work. According to Erik, at least 15% of the stock options grants between 1996 to August, 2002,were backdated. Some were within 30 days of the grant date, others more egregious. The number of companies though he said that were going to come clean would be far less than 15%. Here is what we came up with.First the assumptions:1. # of companies that actually are investigated or asked by the SEC (currenty June 03 is 42) by June 2006 = 1002. # of companies that will complete the 3 step process of preliminary investigation, comprehensive audit and final
A command center, sometimes referred to as a war room, can be a competitive differentiator for a business, non-profit or other organization. The key elements for any command center are: centralized location, key personnel, time frames (project, crisis or on-going), mission definition, primary activities and finally, resources as related to organizational commitment. Each on of these points will be outlined below to better portray whether an organization does in fact need a command center

Location. There are two schools of thought in this area. One is that the command center should be near the hub of action such as the corporate, non-profit or other organizational headquarters. The other is that the command center should be at a remote location and not co-located with the headquarters to keep it safe and to avoid too much executive interference in its workings. If the command center is to serve as an executive “dog and pony” or show facility, then it should be at headquarters. It is then convenience for both executives and for other visiting dignitaries. Things All College Students Should Know Before Their Career Starts
Changing from a career as a college student to the dreaded career in “the real world” leaves many students in somewhat of a culture shock. Many college students have an internship or two under their belt by the time they get to college and I highly recommend that to ease the transition. Here are some things that you can realize or change as a college student that will help you in moving to a 9 to 5: Change doesn’t come easyMost college students come out thinking they will fix everything in a company. Keep this attitude but be realistic. Even if the way something is done now is inefficient, change is a big deal. People don’t like to change because they ha

    Co-Branding in Automotive Service Businesses
In a world of co-branding, point of destination strategies and co-op marketing; all industries are evolving and diversifying to capture greater profits within a single brick and mortar location. The same strategies are used on the Internet only you can see it happen faster in real time on Internet web sites. In general much of the new thinking has been customer driven due to lifestyle changes, low unemployment, time factors and quality of life issues of the consumer. If you look at amazon.com which now sells tapes, records and toys when previously it was strictly a books sales site. It can quickly add new revenue streams by offering it's customer base more reasons to buy more things

    Learn Your PROTOCOLS
IntroductionStudies have shown that large numbers of organisations aim to introduce some form of structured change or improvement programme each year (in some studies this can be as high as 60-70% of all organisations), but few of these programmes will achieve changes that are sustainable. Many of the change programmes invested in by organisations across a wide range of sectors will actually end up costing more than they deliver in the way of improvements, although they may appear for a short time to have delivered some improvement or even provide a ‘sticking plaster’ temporary solution to a key organizational issue. Our own research (originally based on 120 manufactur

    Neon Signs
Neon signs are great advertising for any business. They work well for retail settings such as game rooms, restaurants, diners, manufacturing units, pubs and lounges, fraternity lounges, and many other establishments. The first set of neon signs was sold by a French company named Neon Claude to a Packard car dealership in Los Angeles in 1923, for a sum of $24,000.These “liquid fire” tubes glowed in the night as well as broad daylight and soon became popular. Since then, the neon technology has evolved tenfold, and the signs are more popular than ever today. Not all signs are made of neon, since the neon gas only produces the color red. After the initial discovery of neon-emitti

If the goal is a critical information hub, then the command center can be anywhere. Ideally, not in or even near the headquarters facility.

Personnel. The kinds of people who are best for a command center are not necessarily the movers and shakers on their way up in any organization. There are three categories of people who are valuable in the command center environment. The first is the candid veteran leaders or manager. This individual must be fully committed to the center and willing to tell it like it is regardless of the consequences. The second is the expert. There need to be functional experts – the top in their areas – in each of the primary functional areas that the command center supports for the corporation or organization. The third category is the technical guru. Given the importance of communications, systems and tools to the command center, only the best technical gurus can meet t
