The Greatest Vitamin in The World
VitaminsScientists created synthetic vitamins that are cheap to make and are said to be identical in their atomic structure when compared to whole vitamins (Vitamins directly from vegetables). However, when polarized light was placed through these synthetic vitamins, the light acted much differently than when placed throug

    The Counteroffer Strikes Back
So you are thinking about accepting the counteroffer even though I said it was bad? You ask what could be so bad about getting an increase in salary or a big new promotion with your present employer versus making a change to leave them and go with a competitor? It does sound tempting, but life is perfect only in hindsight and o
Here's a common myth that plagues pretty much every office I've ever been to: Everybody appreciates a good joke. While we may desperately want this to be true, it's just not the case. While it may be a genuinely funny joke, it just might not fly in an office environment. Even if you think it's the funniest joke since the "I'm Rick James" era (which, by the way, is OVER), you should definitely consider saving it for after work during the following three situations:

    Client Meetings

I can't emphasize this point enough, and I think I make it in every article I write about client interactions: You need to be extremely conscious of the image you present. Everything you say or do will be scrutinized by your clients, even if it’s just subconsciously. Jokes can be a deal breaker when it comes to this image. Even if the client is cracking joke after joke, I would still be careful with your choice of funny anecdotes. It's ok to joke around a bit (if you have that kind of relationship w

    I'm a Businessperson, I Don't Need To Be Creative - Or Do I?
You may think you don't need to be creative. But creativity can help you do a better job of what you do. Just look at the military. Who would think that stand-up-straight-and-stick-the-gut-in military needed to be creative? All they do is follow orders - or so we think. But the US military was one of the first modern organization

Ego Stroking To Influence Others To Get More Of What You Want
I have TWO critically significant questions for you! The same TWO questions that were asked of Six Thousand, Six Hundred people (6,600).1. "Do you receive as much praise, approval, and appreciation on your job as you feel you deserve?"2. "Would you likely perform your job better if you received more praise, approval

The Spirit of Giving: Should Your Workplace Adopt a Family This Holiday Season?
The festivities of the holiday season manifest even in the most focused of workplaces. Most workplaces have their own holiday traditions: formal holiday parties, lunchtime cookie swaps, Secret Santa exchanges or all of the above. But for those companies looking for a special way to celebrate the spirit of the season, why not co

It's ok to joke around a bit (if you have that kind of relationship with your client), but I would keep it "work safe", a.k.a something you would feel comfortable saying in front of your boss, the most sensitive person in the office, and your little sister.

    The Water Cooler

This ranks up there as a dangerous place for two reasons: You're exposed to tons of people and because it's probably the one place in your office where you feel the most informal. I can also guarantee that not everyone will appreciate your joke about the sketchy sailor and his many misadventures.
